Athletics

Bishop Francis Allen School has a long tradition of participation in Board and Family of schools athletics.  As stated in our mission statement we focus upon the development of the whole child, that is, with a focus on the academic, social, spiritual and physical well-being.  Through the coaching leadership of our dedicated faculty and staff we are able to offer the students a wide variety of organized athletics throughout the year.

Bishop Francis Allen School participates in the athletic events coordinated through the Brampton West Family of Schools, including: soccer, cross-country, volleyball, basketball, and track and field.  Athletic events begin in September and continue throughout the year.  Presently, athletics within the Family and Board are for students between the ages of 9 and 13.  Beginning in Grade four, students are able to try out for Junior athletics.  Intermediate students, in grades seven and eight, continue to focus upon athletic skill development.

Here, at Bishop Francis Allen School, we encourage students to pariticipate in the various athletic events. The students not only develop themselves physically, enhancing athletic skills development, but also develop important appropriate social and leadership skills through team building and supportive good sportsmanship relationships.  The latter skill development is infused throughout all interactions demonstrating our moral purpose as Catholics to live our lives according to Jesus' model of mutual respect.  We are proud of our student athletic efforts.
